    Report Attack Site

I normally disable the instant domain alias. I've had development sites get indexed on Google using them. Where they get the links, I don't know, but URLs have a habit of getting out, maybe through Gmail or whatever. They won't always remove them from the index even after a Remove URL request...

    Report Attack Site

Sounds like a good reason to disable third-party type domain names.

    Jodohost is unavailable!

Nice how fast it all works before everyone comes back online... sites are zipping along.

    Jodohost is unavailable!

Same here on AT&T midwest US. Tracert is 'unable to resolve target system name' for all JH-related domains (and mine...) No mail either. I'm connecting through a proxy in France right now. There seems to be major disruption elsewhere.

    Lots of sites down

It seems to be database-connected sites, mysql7 and mysql10. Some connect eventually but they're extremely slow. Is there a problem? Cloudflare doesn't kick in at all... that's disappointing.

    Bot signups

Just tried it out and I see you need to answer the email confirmation link as well to sign up. I've never actually seen a bot do that, and I do use some common unmodified registration forms like Joomla, but I suppose that's just as easily scripted. Doing some readin up on it, it does seem...

    Bot signups

Just out of curiosity, how do so many bots sign up for this forum? Given it has reCaptcha on the registration form it should be fairly safe. I have much simpler captchas or checks on some registrations and they're never affected by automated signups. Seems they must be bypassing it. It seems...

    Customers getting lots of spam

My business works by personal referrals, not by advertising my address(es) on the net. People give my address to other contacts, and they mail me. They simply wouldn't go to the trouble of telling everyone to use a contact form to get in touch with me, and I can't imagine they would tell me...

    Customers getting lots of spam

Some of the Yahoo messages actually explain and apologise for backscatter, but mostly they just send the full thing back in the body of the email. Bizarre. I can't use a full fail SPF as the client uses their own various SMTPs for a number of addresses for the domain, and even if i knew them all...

    Customers getting lots of spam

The dating spams are annoying. The biggest nuisance right now is all the rejection notices one of my clients is getting; dozens per day. Clearly, they're not being sent by them as the sending IPs are from all over the world; the spammer is just using their address in the From line, but Yahoo...

    Customers getting lots of spam

I haven't seen any false positives since, so hopefully that has done the trick. I understand that spotting some spam, or 'bacn', is hard. I appreciate the efforts you take. --- Whitelisting is a good idea for some people, but it's certainly not for everyone. Businesses depend on getting mail...

    Web15 frequent problems

Web15 is also unavailable to me on AT&T. Others seem okay. Looks like they've blocked it again. This could be why... http://cbl.abuseat.org/lookup.cgi?ip=173.0.129.56

    Customers getting lots of spam

No, better than spam itself, but because of the occasional false positive I still need to go through the senders' names and that takes just as long as spotting spam... also, some people get upset when they're told they're sending 'infected' mail. There's not much to latch on to... most of the...

According to Google, the forwarding IP is not penalized as long as the forwarded mail is not modified. https://support.google.com/mail/answer/175365?hl=en

    Customers getting lots of spam

A lot of the spam has been reduced to virus messages in recent days, though I'm still getting plenty of mail from lonely Russian ladies who'd like to be my friend. The filtering by ClamAv is a little too enthusiastic, though, and producing false positives... For example, I just got a virus...

    I love JodoHost..........BUT

And me... I'd be interested in moving my sites to a well-resourced tightly-controlled cluster with completely separate IPs, including mail, away from the public signup servers, where my clients don't have to put up with the general mayhem, and can count on increased reliability, root and secure...

    Customers getting lots of spam

Do you mean because Gmail might identify the forwarding server as the spammer? I don't think that's the case. All the headers I look at in Gmail show the original sender in the headers and give that as the return path. If Gmail is just picking up mail from POP I don't know if their spam filters...

    Cooking - Recipes - Vegetarian

They're being very quiet about it, if that's the case. Favorite veggie for people who miss meat: crimson lentils. They're inbetween the size of red lentils and green ones, and are a reddish brown, and hard to get. They have a great meaty flavor, though. Umami, I suppose. They work great in...

cooking - techniques, new spices, or something else to share that doesn't merit an entire thread?

Must be a slow day at the datacenter if you're posting cooking threads :-) (I suppose that's a good thing...) Try fenugreek, if you can get it. Mostly used for Indian dishes, sparingly. It has a flavor all of its own. It reminds me of maple syrup. Personally, I can't make anything without...

    Customers getting lots of spam

Gmail is still free, and you can use any email address as the sender without paying for Google apps. I forward most incoming mail directly there now, and send through Google SMTP. You can access it from any mail client.
