Site down for over 24 hours now

Well my site is still down - over 48 hours now. Can't it just be moved to another server or something? I've just managed to get other sites to start linking to me, got into Google search results, etc. If it's down for too long I fear people will stop linking to me. I'd really like to see...

Site down for over 24 hours now

Actually, I still can't access my site using the "Instant access domain alias" so I think it still might be a problem with JodoHost.

Site down for over 24 hours now

A couple of days ago I asked my old host to cancel the account I had with them. I don't know if it was a coincidence, but I just logged into my domain registrar (a totally different company from my old hosting provider) and my nameservers had been reset to nothing. I've changed it back to...

Site down for over 24 hours now

I've had my site hosted with Jodo for about a month now. Yesterday, without me having made any changes it started to show a "page under construction" message. I've logged on via FTP and all the files are there. Directory indexes are turned on. There has been no change by me since it was...

    Protect a folder

Thanks for the code snippet DeepakG. I'm actually using the iTextSharp library which allows you to build PDF files from C#. You can view some documentation on it at: http://itextsharp.sourceforge.net/tutorial/index.html It's a little bit limiting but with a combination of tables and...

    Protect a folder

Thanks StPatrick. The files aren't actually stored in the database. I build a file using data in the database (eg. invoices look at the invoicing table and build a PDF file detailing each record). But I think the same sort of method might still work. I'll give it a try.

    Protect a folder

Thanks atulkumar. I'll give it a try. StPatrick...the files will only be 50-150K so it shouldn't be a problem. Thanks for the advice though. Also while I've got you, do you have a good method of deleting a file once it's been successfully streamed? I have PDF files I generate as required...

    Protect a folder

I have seen a post like this here before, but have a slightly different question for Jodohost. My site has a folder of datafiles that I stream to the browser using ASP.NET server-side code when required. The users should not be able to access these files directly. The only method of access...

    Intermittent server slowdowns

I have been experiencing the odd 5-10 minute slowdown over the past couple of weeks. Other sites seem to respond ok at the time, but I don't know if it's just an internet thing or something slowing down at Jodohost.

    Last Downtime

On the main JodoHost.com website, there is a "server status" link. When you click the link it says last downtime was August 19, 2003. From reading posts, it looks like there was some downtime last week (or ealry this week) where people couldn't access sites and control panels. Is that...

    Public Downloads From FTP

You're right Dave - that is probably a better solution. I just wanted clients to have a quick and easy way to send me files without having to bother visiting the site, logging in, etc. I am writing in ASP.NET. I've already done some file saving on other parts of the site so I'll just use...

    Public Downloads From FTP

Is it possible to allow only "write" access to anonymous FTP? I want to allow users to upload files to me via FTP. But I don't want them to be able to see what else has been uploaded. So they should just be able to put files in the folder, not see what's in there or get other files.
