    MySQL backups

FYI, I have been using the MySQLBackupFTP program, and it works great. Very fast, and can do scheduled runs to backup and compress the DB's to my local drives.

    MySQL backups

Has anyone been able to set up something to automatically grab a mysql db backup remotely? I have an issue that a customer deleted a DB a month or so ago, and JH doesn't have backups going back that far. So I need to be able to connect to the mysql DB servers and backup each DB for our websites...

    Customers getting lots of spam

I suppose that would be an option, to setup a gmail account, then setup an additional mail address on that account, and lastly forward all mail to the gmail account from the JH servers. Quite a bit of a workaround, but may be a good option to stop the daily calls from our frustrated customers...

    Customers getting lots of spam

having it reject or delete is just not an option in the real world. What if there is a false positive? That's why every hosted solution puts spam into a spam folder specific to that user..

    Customers getting lots of spam

Over the past few months, we have been inundated by customer complaints about spam coming into their inbox. Is anyone else seeing this? Has anyone else moved to having a 3rd party anti-spam filter setup? Now that Google Apps is no longer free, we aren't able to simply move our smaller customers...

    Synchronizing dropdown lists

I'm wondering if anyone can steer me in the right direction on this: I have a form with a couple of dropdown boxes for the State. One dropdown is at the top of the form, the other at the bottom. What I'd like to do is if someone changes the value of either dropdown, it sync's up with the...

    Mail won't send immediately

We already did a test with JH support and a test email account. I also set up the same test account from my home computer which goes through a different ISP, and they had a consultant do the same. Only when they are at the customer's office connecting to JH mail servers is there a problem.

    Mail won't send immediately

I have never heard about a setting, on 3 different clients, that would have it not authorize and then authorize. I'm truly at a loss as to what to do. I set up another test account on a different JH mail server on one of our other client's domains, and same issue. Even had them switch to SSL...

    Mail won't send immediately

I'm not sure what you mean. It is checked to use SMTP authentication. I did another test, I set them up with a test email account on our google mail accounts, and had them use POP3 and SMTP, and that worked immediately. Changed them back to their regular server on JH mail servers, and same delay.

    Mail won't send immediately

Have an interesting problem. Have a customer with a mix of windows live mail, outlook, and MacMail. All of them are set to send through our JH mail servers, and have the "send immediately" checked, and outgoing mail port 587. However, when they send a message, it goes to the outbox with a...

    New outbound mailserver IP's?

Also, when is mail9 going to get off the spamcop block list?

    New outbound mailserver IP's?

This is what I have been using by default for any of our customers (with the exception of those that need to send SMTP out via their ISP's mail server, then I add an additional entry for those smtp servers): v=spf1 a mx a:ns.mysphere.biz a:myhsphere.biz include:myhsphere.biz...

    New outbound mailserver IP's?

We are using SPF for our customers, and that has worked well up until this week (possibly last week). It looks like some mail servers, specifically mail9, is now routing mail through mail9-smtpout.myhsphere.biz which is on a different subnet. First, what should we be using for SPF now...

    Poor performance on wincf2

Unfortunately, the CF that is running on these servers just doesn't perform. CF itself is probably the absolute worst server product I've ever seen, but a few people still use it. You're best bet is to try to convince your customer to move to PHP or ASP. We had a customer that we could not...

Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standards

After a very long conversation with Security Metrics, one of the agents of the PCI compliance standards group, they are basically saying these small changes would allow them to pass the customer as pci compliant. Now I realize, and agree with, that it still doesn't appear to be truly pci...

Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standards

Here is a response from the PCI scanning company: "Most of the vulnerabilities on the scan results are common. With the anonymous ftp login we'll simply need a statement of liability along with evidence of no administrative access through the anonymous login. At that point we can manually...

Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standards

Sorry for bringing up this old thread. I have a customer or two that have failed their PCI compliance checks. I basically stated that it is not possible to get PCI compliant in shared hosting. That being said, what options do we have with JH? Is Windows VPS or Linux semi-dedicated the only...

    Squirrelmail - timeout issues

Sorry, I just realized our default webmail for this domain is DWMail, not squirrelmail.. Any ideas how to do those same settings for timeouts in DWMail?

    Squirrelmail - timeout issues

I don't think so. I think it's just a normal residential internet connection.. Any other ideas?

    Squirrelmail - timeout issues

I realize this is a very old thread, but I have a customer asking about this very same topic. I haven't seen any answers in the forums, nor can I see anything in the webmail interface to adjust timeouts. Can anyone shed any light on if this can be adjusted at all?
