We did not change anything as all was up for us here
If this ever happens in the future it would be good to keep a few things in mind, especially if we do not have a post here about it, as when such happens, we do post and are on top of it.
1. Do a traceroute, there are a number of ways to do this on windows:
Start, Run,(or vista/win7 with new style, start and type cmd and push enter) then go to cmd
From there type: tracert jodohost.com (or other domain you want to trace)
It will take a while and give you results, one that is a bit more useful and actually faster to give initial trace results is called pathping, it is done by also going to the command line and typing:
pathping jodohost.com (or other)
It will generate a traceroute very quickly, then do a ping test for between 300-500 seconds to test packetloss etc as well.
2. you can use a site like alertra
www.alertra.com to do a spot check, it will check from multiple locations around the world, you can pretty easily tell then if it is a total network outage, local network outage, or isolated to some regions (being all locations on alertra down = total, local to you outage, possibly ISP issues = all alertra stations report OK, and regional outage = some stations at alertra ok and some error, likely a "major internet" wide issue would make this)
Save the results from the traceroute/pathping especially if it is/was a local issue, these can be useful both for us, and possibly your ISP in tracing down why an issue happened.
