JodoHost is now offering ASP.NET 2.0 services. Our 2.0 services will be offered as a trial service for the next 2 weeks while we iron out any functionality problems customers may experience with their 2.0 software. During these 2 weeks, we cannot guarantee 100% performance of ASP.NET 2.0 sites. Full support will be announced in the first week of December.

We understand there are many customers who want to upgrade. However, it is not possible for us to support 2.0 on existing servers due to a conflict between HSphere and the framework. Hence, it will be offered only on new servers. These new servers will have both 1.1 and 2.0 installed side by side where 1.1 is installed by default for new domains. Domains on these servers can be switched to 2.0 by putting in a ticket

Since ASP.NET 2.0 is a relatively new service, we are introducing it with a small fee that may be withdrawn at a later date as ASP.NET 2.0 usage becomes more prevalent. Any reseller or shared customer who wishes to change from 1.1 to 2.0 on a supported server would be charged a reoccuring fee of $0.50/month per domain. Resellers can pass this fee on to their customers.

Customers on a non supporting server can request their account to be moved to a supporting server for a flat transfer fee of $10. This fee is one-time and the transfer can involve upto 12 hours of downtime for sites. Therefore we at JodoHost recommend that customers with accounts on non-supported servers purchase a new windows account instead of transfering an old one. All new windows accounts will automatically be on a 2.0 supported server. If you are a reseller, your new windows accounts will automatically be created on a 2.0 supported server however the transfer fee of $10 would still apply if you wish to transfer an existing end-user account to a supporting server.

Win2 is our first ASP.NET 2.0 server. This server was recently rebuilt on new hardware and we decided to include 2.0 during the reinstall. Hence customers who went through downtime when it crashed due to a hardware failure would benefit by having to pay no transfer fee if they'd like 2.0 activated on their domains. However the monthly $0.50/month per domain fee still applies on domains you wish to change to 2.0. Win13, the new windows server in the pipeline, will also be a supporting server and all servers added from now on

I'd like to stress that the monthly fee of $0.50/month is an introductory fee for ASP.NET 2.0. As its usage becomes more prevalent over the next few months, it will DEFINATELY be reviewed, and very soon indeed.

After 2 weeks of production testing, we now feel confident in announcing official ASP.NET 2.0 support for our customers. ASP.NET 2.0 and ASP.NET 1.1 will be running simultaneously on all new Windows servers. If you are a customer/reseller who created an account after Nov 17th, 2005, your server already has ASP.NET 2.0 installed. You need to simply ensure ASP.NET is activated from your control panel. Activating ASP.NET from the control panel will install 1.1 for your domain. You'd need to open a ticket requesting your domain to be upgraded to 2.0. There are no upgrade fees. The $0.50/mo fee that was announced earlier is no longer applicable.

Customers/Resellers who created an account prior to Nov 17th would be on a server not supporting ASP.NET 2.0. You can ask for your account to be transfered to an ASP.NET 2.0 server for a one-time transfer fee of $10, by opening a ticket. Once the transfer is complete, you'd be able to ask support to upgrade your domains to .NET 2.0 for free.

Resellers please note that your accounts are independent of any servers. It is only the end-user accounts you create that are located on specific servers. With regards to those accounts, these procedures apply
