cannot add attchment to email

All of a sudden I cannot add an attachment to an email. When I try with hotmail it basically does nothing when I attach it. When I tried with outlook express it came up error ox8oocccod. Any help would be appreciated.
 
Not sure about the hotmail problem, but for your outlook issue I'd download the latest version and install that.
 
What type of attachment are you sending? Hotmail is blocking a lot of attachments if they are .exe files or other potential virus carriers. And the latest, updated Outlook and Outlook Express are also blocking certain types of attachments without giving you a way to override it.
 
On outlook and express you can go to Tool,s Options, Security tab, and uncheck "Do not allow unsafe attachments" (it is a bit longer than that, but that is the drift). That filter blocks virtually every attachment including MS Office documents unless you turn it off, so I would bet that is the problem.
