CL1-HWWIN1 migration from Windows 2003 to 2008 R2 OS

Tonight Aug 17, at 11pm CDT we will be finalizing the Windows 2003 to 2008 R2 move for HWWIN1 server on Cluster1.
With the end of life nearing on windows 2003 there are an increasing amount of attacks and problems coming on 2003 based servers, we are taking this time to move 2003 based servers to 2008 for existing clients. The process has been time consuming for this first move as many Parallels tools were not working 100%, but now we have made scripts to address most of those issues. The remaining issues are more along the lines of Class ASP based sites having parent paths or other features needing to be enabled.

We have moved a few dedicated IP sites successfully already, but there are a few with some hiccups along the way. We will be working to check sites as the move but when it comes to the shared IP there may be many sites to check and unable to find every aspect of it.

We wish to make you aware of this so that you can check the sites and know if there is a problem, just let us know and we shall promptly fix it for you.

In the last 2 weeks there have been reports of Quota issues on HWWIN1, at various times this was because of the changing being made to try/retry/fix the scripts that were not working properly on the new server. With this change after, after it is completed, these problems should no longer appear.

Also we shall be moving all the 2003 servers one by one to 2008 for which we shall post for them independently.

Thanks,

Support Team

This work is going now, the shared IP is not yet migrated, we are first moving all SSL dedicated IP websites.

Progressing well, noticed we need to get MVC3 installed on the server so doing that before shared IP.

The shared IP is moved, we have techs checking sites, we see some asp class sites needing a few settings tweaks but overall looking good!

We've learned on some domains PHP was not enabled on the accounts, it can be resolved by going to disable on PHP and then back to enable.
