Conflict with Child Name Servers?

I have a domain name registered with a domain registrar (Planet Domain). I am presently hosting this domain name with abc webhosting where I have a web site and several dozen email accounts set up. Now that I?m taking on the job of becoming a web hosting reseller, I want to use this domain name for my name servers for my own web site as well as for those of my clients. In Jodo?s online documentation, it indicates that in my service account, I can host a web site and create email accounts for this. I want to do this. I realize that during the transition from my current name server to my own-private name server there will be some down time. However, for me to make this transition, do I need to delete the old name servers and put in the new ones I created in setting up my service account or can they exist concurrently? I also haven?t seen anything in planetdomain.com?s site that allows me to create my own child name servers. Does anyone know specifically about them and how they handle this process?

Thanks

Tony

I have found how to create child name servers in planet domain (once you know, it is rather simple). However, I've only been able to create ns.mydomain.com and ns2.mydomain.com. I haven't been able to get it to create ns3.mydomain.com or ns4.mydomain.com. It keeps feeding me back an error. If anyone has a suggestion on why this is so, please let me know. I know this is a PlanetDomain problem I'm having and not anything to do with Jodo, I'm just hoping someone out there has some ideas on this.

Thanks

I too found that article in their support service area. That is exactly what I've done to create ns. and ns2. however, every time I try to create ns3. or ns4. I get error messages.

A very good friend of mine has reseller hosting that he purchases from Jodo and he too has his domains registered with Planetdomain.com, but he did not encounter these problems and hasn't been able to provide me with any insight.

I have two trouble tickets into PlanetDomain.com, but alas, they are nowhere near as efficient as Jodo in their responses!

Thanks again

Tony
