Customer Payments

Hi,

I apologise if these questions have been asked a thousand times before, but I had a quick look and couldn't find the info I need.

Basically, I want to go live with my reseller space, and start selling hosting packages to customers.

However, I'm not too sure on the best possible ways of accepting payments, so was hoping other resellers will be able to share their knowledge of when they went live.

In an ideal world I'd like to accept payments by credit / debit card, and for the monthly hosting cost to be debited automatically from the customer and into my account. What service would be best to look at for this, taking into consideration that I will probably only be hosting a small amount of people, and don't want to shell out hundreds of pounds for setup etc?

If the above is too expensive for myself, I understand that PayPal and NoChex can be used, with no signup costs etc. But am I right in saying that these won't debit peoples accounts automatically? That means the customer will either have to manually pay every month, or pay ?XX.XX up front for their account to be credited on Hsphere which will then be used for following months?

Would anyone be able to provide me with a run through of what they use to accept payments, and how much it cost you to setup and run each month?

Many thanks for your help in advance.

Oli

A merchant account for VISA/MC can cost you anywhere from 0-300$ setup and another 30-50$ month + the discount rate usually 2.5-3%.

Some also have a monthly minimum (lets take 25$ for exemple), that means that if you do not have 25$ worth of fees at a given month, you will get charged 25$, if you have more than 25, than you pay what you got that month.

So at a rate of 3% and a montly minimum of 25$, you must process around 834$ that month (25/0.03)

Oh and almost forgot some charge an added fixed fee per transaction 0.15-0.35$/transaction.
