Well we have sustained our first major non weather expected power failure. The datacenter is right now running on generator power and CRG sent me this urgent news:
One of the utility feeds serving the CRG West Miami Exchange lost power, resulting in on site generators starting. The generators are now providing power to one UPS feed, and there has been no loss of power to any Miami Exchange customer. CRG West staff are on site, and FP&L is responding.
The Miami Exchange will continue to provide generator power until FP&L and CRG West have isolated the cause, and have restored stable utility power to the buss. The failed buss does not provide primary utility power to the first floor. Customer impact should be negligible and not noticable on network monitoring or management systems.
Miami Exchange has three primary uility feeds providing power to the site. Only one has dropped power.
