My service domain has a dedicated App Pool.

I didn't add it but its there under Account Settings.

Billing says they are going to start billing me for it but I do not see a way to remove it.

Advice please?

To add a Dedicated Application Pool in Windows Server 2003:

1. Go to Account > Account Settings in your user control panel.
2. In the section Dedicated Application Pool, click Add.
3. Enter extension and maximum number of worker processes:
* Extension will be used for pool name. For instance, if your account name is user, extension is test, the newly-created application pool will be named usertestAppPool.
* Maximum number of worker processes can be restricted by administrator.

Note this doesn't mean we disallow dedicated app pools, we just really don't want Hsphere managing them as it does a bad job. We will still freely move you to a dedicated or small app pool. Sometimes a dedicated app pool is actually a performance problem if there are not enough hits on a site etc.

Further to Stephen's reply, i would like to inform you that, please contact support team via support ticket if you need a dedicated pool for your website, they will evaluate requirements and will create a manual Dedicated pool for your website, if required. Manual dedicated pools are not chargeable; but these will not be visible at your Hsphere login.

All dedicated pools visible in Hsphere, are Automated Dedicated pools added by a user from Hsphere, is Chargeable.

You guys don't understand. Hsphere says there is one there ( I didn't add it) and I want to get rid of it because billing says they are going to charge for it.

I didn't see how to remove it.

Please PM me your domain name or your account user name
and Let me check

Okey, i found the same, you are not able to see delete option, because the pool is in use. You need to open a ticket in support with details of your end user account. They will first disable and then delete this dedicated pool.

To Delete Dedicated Application Pool in Windows Server 2003:

1- Go to Account > Account Settings in your user control panel.
2- Click on Delete icon in front of Application Pool Name. If there has no Delete icon, it must show (in use) message. This means some of your domain or sub domain is using that application pool. In this case please follow from step3.
3- Go to Domains >> Click on domain or sub Domain name >> Click on Edit Web Service icon >> Click on edit icon in front of Web Directories Settings >> Click on edit icon in front of Web Application Document Root >> Select Shared Pool >> Click on submit >> you may get below error
Failed to change Web Application
Error. Application Pool can't contain ASP NET resources with different versions.

Disable ASP.NET on your domain >> Follow Step3 from start >> Now select shared Application Pool >> Click on submit >> you will get "Web Application has been changed successfully" message >> Enable ASP.NET on domain.
4- You need to check this for all domain(s) or sub domain(s) in account. If all change to shared Application pool.
5- Now, Go to Account > Account Settings in your user control panel.
6- Click on delete icon in front of Application pool.

This process will delete application pool from your account.

We have deleted the application pool. If you are still facing any problem . You can open support ticket. We will check it.
