I want a site to continue to point at an old hosting company while I move it over to my reseller account.... I have alreayd moved the DNS overm, but now do I want to change the A Record to point to the old IP? Or do I just add a C Name record? I believe I can just add in a C Name pointing to the old IP no?
 
CNAMEs point to other hostnames, not IPs. I'd recommend using an A record if possible, since a CNAME record will require every visitor to resolve the hostname you're referring to as well, making it slower.
