Domain Redirection

Is there a way on the Control Panel to specify that http://*.domain.com gets permanent redirected to http://domain.com ?

I believe this would only be possible on a dedicated IP

There is a configuration setting on IIS that allows this. That's why I though may be possible from the control panel.

There is no need to have a dedicated IP for the IIS setting at least.

Yes, there is a need to have it in DNS to point to a IP to make that work, IIS has nothing to do with this.

Sorry, I seem not to be clear today. You are right, the correct example would be always redirecting www.domain.com to domain.com. But I guess that's not possible.

you could technically add domain aliases, but a wildcard * can't be done without a dedicated IP

That's ok. What I want is to have the alias www.domain.com that is added by default, always redirected to domain.com. Or any other alias I might add like w., ww., wwww. all permanent redirected to domain.com. Does the control panel have this functionality?

Not really, you can use a redirect in code to do this however.

Yes, I'm running ASP.NET. I've made a component for this, but I wanted to know if it was possible to do it in a cleaner way from IIS.

Maybe a wildcard CNAME? Dedicated IP will work, definitly.
