Emailing AOL, Comcast, Juno, Qwest

Hello All,

I'm having issues sending emails to customers at AOL, Comcast, Juno, and Qwest. They are failing with the following messages:

This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.

Unable to deliver message to the following recipients, due to being unable to connect successfully to the destination mail server.

Final-Recipient: rfc822;[email protected]
Action: failed
Status: 4.4.7

Any ideas why this is happening. I searched for this in the forums but didn't find anything relevant? Thanks!

never seen it before or seen it reported, I have mailed myself on an ancient but still functioning juno account and it made it.

Hey Stephen,

The site producing these errors is on win21. I have also tried resending these mesages from Outlook with some working and others returning the same error, so I'm not clear that it is not an error on the mail server as well. This site is using ASPMail. This appears to be an issue for the last two months. Any ideas what else I can do? There seems to be little info on these errors anywhere. Thanks!

Hello,

I am still receiving these delivery failures. I just spoke to a rep. at Comcast and they said this error is due to DNS caching, our mail server trying to connect to the wrong DNS, and timing out. Comcast said this update is easy to fix and will help if Jodohost calls them. I have a direct number to call if Jodo does not already have it. Can some one at Jodo follow up on this? Thanks!

intersting, can you PM it to me? i used to be a comcast client and it was hard enought to reach them then :)

Hey Stephen,

I just pm'd you the number and voice prompt instructions to get to the right dept. I think they may be leaving the office for the day shortly as they are EST. Let me know the outcome. Thanks!

For Comcast you should be sending using the mailserver as SMTP, because Comcast needs revesrse DNS for sender SMTP. You only get this with mailserver and not with webserver SMTP.
