ExpiresByType and filematch in htaccess?

I seem to be unable to implement apache functions like expiresbytype and filematch in my htaccess files (get a 500 error as soon as I try) -- anything to be done about that, or are reseller installs hardwired w/ a limited subset of apache commands?

Please create a ticket with domain name. Probably this webserver has mod_expires disabled.
