Hard to say.. it depends a little on what they actually mean by 'requiring' them.

If they mean you need FTP access to the linux account, then ftpd would be covered. If it somehow needs to do something to the ftp server's configuration, then no.

Linux shared hosting doesn't give you SSH access, but if it's just required to run a few shell commands for installation, you can probably work around it. If it relies heavily on SSH post installation, then you probably wouldn't be able to use it.

The product website is too vague to be able to tell.

Customer is waiting for a reply & not knowing much about linux os or sshd or thought i'd check. The app is expensive so was hoping to give a definate answer to him.
 
if it works on windows, I would sayit does not REQUIRE SSH, but, one never knows.
