Hsphere virus scanner working?

bro

Perch
A customer has had half a dozen emails with virus attachments through their JH account today and yesterday, though the mailbox has the virus scanner set to remove viruses. (it's not a new mailbox).

Their own PC virus scanner is trapping them with this message:

Norton AntiVirus removed the attachment: important-details.zip.
The W32.Mytob.HL@mm threat was detected in the attachment.

So is the Hsphere virus scanner just not detecting this particular one, or is it working at all?

am not sure if this was for anti-virus or anti-spam...
am not sure if this was fixed...

... but there is/was an issue where it doesnt work if you put the settings to "Very Aggressive"

so you could try it with 2nd highest strength

For anti-virus; it's set to 'remove' any mail with viruses, but it seems to have just let these ones through. Perhaps the anti-virus suppliers just haven't added caught up with this one yet. Just as well Norton caught it. (Not bad, though. In almost two years that's the first one I've heard has got through Hsphere...)

The anti-spam is set to aggressive, but I don't think that affects the anti-virus setting at all.

Bro,

That is a later variant, it could be that it went through before the server AV definitions got updated.
