I need to know if it is possible to foward just http traffic to a reseller account? domain is currently hosted with a different registrar but we want to use our server for the web site. I know you can do with with MX records. Please advise
 
you mean you want just the website served from our servers

For that, create the domain in your CP and change it to a dedicated IP. Then with your domain registrar, change the A record for your site to the dedicated IP
 
I'm getting an error stating I need admin permission for a dedicated IP. Is there a way to do this without a dedicated IP?
 
you mean at our reseller account you are getting that error? Please submit a ticket

Unfortunately, a dedicated IP is needed for 3rd party DNS
 
instead what you could do is host DNS with us and change the MX record to the desired mail server
