I need help w. accepting credit cards as reseller

This is very confusing. I don't know where to start. It seems that I need to sell $1200 per month to get a merchant account without minimum charge. I only have a couple of hosting clients. How is the best way to start out accepting credit card payments for this service?

I might add that if you are just starting out as a reseller, it would be probable your customer base will grow slowly, few signup at a day at the most. In such cases, it is 'liveable' to use something like PayPal. In fact is is advantageous as all signups can be moderated to avoid abuse and fraud signups.

One your reselling activities graduate to several customers, then maybe you can viably consider full payment gateway like those from WorldPay.

Stephen, what do you mean by not fully automated? As in, we have to check the payment has been made, then activate the account?

If so, do you have a step by step guide on how to make it fully automated, ie with the gateway instructions etc?

I'm after this too. As far as I know it's not possible. The user receives an e-mail month after month asking for payment. There is a remote possibility that PayPal subscriptions could work if they send an IPN each time the monthly payment is made. I'll check out that.
