Call me stupid, call me ignorant, but...

I know what IMAP is, we use it at work exclusively, but I have checked my CP and I don't see where to create an IMAP e-mail account. Any e-mail accounts I create appear to be simply POP3 accounts. I checked the plan comparison chart and I am suppose get IMAP, so where do I enable it or create IMAP accounts?

Thanks in advance.

A mailbox is a mailbox, you can access it with both POP3 and IMAP.

Generally, my experience has been that this is not true. At work, we don't have POP3, just IMAP. With other web hosts, they only offer POP3, not IMAP. However, I did (as you implied) configure my e-mail client with my existing e-mail account except saying it's IMAP and low-and-behold, there were my messages. Of course they suddenly disappeared when my e-mail client did a POP3 retrieval.

Thanks for the quick response.

There should be a check box in the email client ocnfiguration for POP3 to tell it to "leave messages on the server."

When I am using a mixture of POP3 and IMAP on the same account I always set this on the POP3 clients.
