Important: Reseller DNS IP Migration

Dear Resellers,

This is an advance notification to all resellers that we plan to reassign your name server IP Addresses.

If your name server IP Address starts with 4.*, 8.10.*, 63.209.* or 64.156.*, you will be affected by this change and would be assigned a new 204.* IP Address. newer resellers are already on 204.* IPs and won't be affected by this

The new IP Addresses will be available to you within 24 to 48 hours in your control panel (in E.Manager > Server Aliases). We will be informing you when the new IP addresses are available. It is imperative that resellers visit their domain registars and update their IP Addresses with them as soon as they get their new IPs.

We are doing a major IP reassignment, starting with our DNS IPs. We have had a major fall-out in relations with Level(3), our major tier-1 provider that has given us these IP Addresses and we are being forced to discontinue use of them ASAP. Our lawyers are already looking into the matter and we are trying to extract as much time as we can to give our resellers to complete the change.

Level(3) in the past has been resposible for several issues that has resulted in downtime on our servers, including rDNS failures and more. The move to our own IP address block - 204.* will ensure IP security for our customers and that such an issue would not happen again.

We are terribly disgusted with Level(3) at the moment. They have shown incredible lack of professionalism. I'll let everyone know exactly what happened that resulted in this fall out, once we have completed this major change.

We are planning the IP migration for zero downtime, but for that to happen, it is imperative resellers cooperate with us and update their reseller DNS ips as well ASAP

Re: Reseller DNS IP Migration

I repeat, we will be emailing resellers when the new IPs are available. You do not need to keep checking your CP.

It is recommended that you update your domain registrar within 2 days of getting the IP addresses. The sooner is the better. There is no need to stay at up especially for it ;)

Dear Resellers,

All older resellers who's name server IPs do not start with 204.* were recently moved to new 204.* IP addresses, as announced 24 hours ago

You will notice that your NS or NS1 IP in your reseller admin CP (E.manager > Server Aliases) has changed to a new 204.* IP while your NS2 IP continues to remain the old IP. You are requested to visit your domain registrar and update the NS/NS1 IP for your DNS Zone immediately and inform your customers about the change in your NS/NS1 IP address as well(incase they call your name servers via IP rather than host)

Your new NS2 IP address will show up in your control panel about 12 hours from now. However, we strongly recommended resellers take the time to update their NS/NS1 IPs immediately. The NS2 IP can be updated later by the reseller at their convenience, in the several days.

You as a reseller are only affected by the change in IPs if the originally allocated name server IPs to you DOES NOT start with 204.* and starts with 63.*, 64.*. 8.10.* or 4.79.*.

All non 204.* IPs are being phased out from JodoHost. The new 204.* IPs are directly controlled and owned by JodoHost and hence would allow us to guarantee better IP security to all our customers. If resellers have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact [email protected]
