First let me say I've been with Jodo since at least 2006, have been generally happy with the service and have had relatively few issues. Support has generally been responsive and issues have been resolved in a timely manner. Thanks for the the great service!
With proper appreciation for Jodo in mind, I am experiencing some ongoing intermittent issues or more than usual with some of my domains/sites. I thought I'd post it here to see if others are having these issues and to get more info on what might be causing them. I have submitted some tickets, which have generally been resolved, but I never really get any explanation as to the cause. I understand, the support staff may not know why or they have many tickets so they are brief. I just want to clarify if these are known issues, part of the migration process, and if they are being worked on. The issues are as follows:
One domain, on win33, has been going offline intermittently and displaying "Service Unavailable" errors every half an hour for around 5 minutes starting early this morning. I'm getting monitoring service alerts that the site is down as shown below:
05/20/2011 07:06 AM (PDT) Test Site 4 min(s)
05/20/2011 06:39 AM (PDT) Test Site 3 min(s)

05/20/2011 05:24 AM (PDT) Test Site 5 min(s)
05/20/2011 04:07 AM (PDT) Test Site 3 min(s)

05/20/2011 02:06 AM (PDT) Test Site 3 min(s)
05/20/2011 01:27 AM (PDT) Test Site 4 min(s)
05/20/2011 12:44 AM (PDT) Test Site 2 min(s)
05/20/2011 12:35 AM (PDT) Test Site 6 min(s)
The same site is having periodic timeouts on an application that is using MSSQL9 as a DB. This application is also used on and accessed by another site not hosted at Jodo, and it has been reporting timeout errors. This has worked fine for years but seems to have slowed with the recent migrations. I assume this might be be because MSSQL9 has not been migrated yet? I think some of the custom application pools were not migrated which has also contributed to this issues.
Another, issue is with the Mail6 going up and down for the past two weeks. My monitor shows the following errors and downtime, which looks like a disk space issue:
ERRSMTPPOP00 Error in SMTPPOP3Monitor Thread (SMTP-POP3): Can't connect with the POP3 server. The email wasn't sent. Connect failed; nested exception is: java.io.IOException: Unexpected response: tcprules: fatal: unable to write to /hsphere/local/var/vpopmail/etc/tcp.smtp.tmp.26619: out of disk space.

I've also experienced some other issues as follows:
1. FTP and CP lags that I posted in a thread yesterday.
2. On some domains, all the files have been changed to read only preventing updates to the files without a support request. I can connect via FTP, download files but cannot replacing existing files. This can be corrected one file at a time via Web Shell but is easier for Jodo to fix. Anyone else having this issue should check for a red only issue.
3. The default index files/directory settings were not transfered during migration causing some sites to display the CP page.
The main concerns for me are making sure the web sites are online, responding well, and that the email servers are working. The FTP/CP and file permission issues are a headache but manageable. Any idea when all the migrations will be complete?
I have been reselling for over 10 years, been involved with migrations and changes at various hosts, and sometimes problems like these have required lots of work to move my resold accounts because the service became very problematic. I came to Jodo after this occurred elsewhere. I'm hoping these issues are not a sign of more problems to come and that the migration and data center will provide even better service than what I have come to expect and appreciate at Jodo.
Any one else having these issues? Are they related to the migrations or maybe the new data center?
The last question I have, which may have been answered before but I cannot find it, is if and when I will need to update my custom name server/server alias domain IPs? I want to make sure I am ready to update them if needed to avoid any other issues.
Thanks!
