IP Address Validation

I am trying to use static IP addresses for alot of my sites. There are a few reasons why but everytime I do it says that there are not any available.

I know I pay .50/month for each static IP and I'm okay with it. However, each time I try to use it I have to go through support to get it going. And they tell me I need a reason to use them like anonymous ftp or SSL.

Then I look at all your offerings for both your windows and linux packages and all come with free static IP's not associated with SSL or Anonymous FTP. That is a selling point I'm trying to give my accounts as well that we offer 1 free static IP for our packages but I'm going through issues each time I set one up.

Any help with how to do this properly would be greatly appreciated.

For dedicated IPs you have to justify its usage, since IPs are limited and can't be allocated to all running sites worldwide.

SSL can't be installed on a shared IP, so a dedicated IP is a must for it.

We keep some free IPs added on windows and linux servers, customers use them when they require them. Sometimes, all IPs are used up, so we add some more IPs. If there is no IP available, contact support by ticket.

It is good idea to give an option of static IPs in your plan. Whoever use the IP, will have to justify its usage accordingly.

Hello,

I replied in your ticket, but we require validation on ALL accounts and all IPs. Our shared customers are not exempt from this justification, because no one is, ARIN requires all IPs used be justified.

Stephen,

Not trying to be an ass at all but, how do you all justify offering a static IP for all accounts you all give people? That's all I'm trying to do is the same thing. Just trying to understand things at a lowly hosting newbie end.

We have an IP justification database,

Dave96,

80% includes subnetting, etc, there is a lot of IP wastage in subnetting at times.
