More warning for long maintenance please!

I just received notifications for the following:

Mail6 Maintenance - Saturday, June 16, at 12:20 AM
and
Mail5 maintenance - Friday, June 15, at 11:30 PM

That is like today and tomorrow! For 20 and 25 minutes.

We need to give clients notice too, and not be caught unaware if we don't get the emails before the work starts and we get calls from clients.

So please, a couple of days' notice would be good.

I understand this was a short notice antic. But really, both servers are facing issues that could cause them to be down for longer if we do not correct them.

This is urgent maintenance, where we are trying to give some sort of notice (48 hours) before performing
 
I understand, but it's worth making the point. :)

But it wasn't 48 hours' notice.. I got the email at 2am this morning here (UTC+8) on the 15th. First maintenance is 15th, 11:30 PM EDT (UTC-4), which is the 16th, 11:30AM here. Unless I'm miscalculating, that's 33.5 hours after getting the notice.

If I hadn't been working late, I would have seen the email at 9am, which makes it 26.5 hours notice. :)

[edit] I did miscalculate intially.. I'm tired. :)
 
We had some drives overnighted but they did not ship the day of order, so I delayed the announce until I got notice of the shipping and saw it in UPS database.

It is partially my fault, but I have burn burned on one overnight delivery in the last 2 weeks already, just getting a package today that was sent last Tuesday, and it was wet and moldy, like it was dropped in the lake and left there.

I was not happy, and processing insurance claim on that now(no it was not the hard drives)
 
hmm, mysterious mouldy package for Stephen.... sounds very suspicious.

I didn't think you could claim on recreational items! hehe
 
It was coffee from my sister :D Its business critical, fresh roasted that day and sent to me, it keeps me going!

And of all things they made me keep that stinky mess so I could prove it was damaged, and I opened it in front of them!
