I've got a client with a site currently held with another hosting provider. I want to move them to my Jodohost VPS server, but there's a snag: they've got a dozen or so web-only email accounts with users that will not move to a client (as in: an outlook offline client; they're obviously fine with e.g. horde) and who insist on migrating all their existing messages and folders if we switch host.
The only way I can think of accomplishing that is to temporarily set up a client with IMAP for each account, suck down the messages and the folder structure, switch settings to the new server and use IMAP to sync it all up.
Quite apart from the sheer hassle of pulling this off across a whole bunch of accounts with thousands of messages (these are the kind of email users we all fear: they never clean out their inboxes, instead just have everything sitting there for years...) I want to be sure that it'll work before I set it in motion -- once I hit go it's got to come off without a hitch.
Anyone out there ever done anything similar?
