Ms Sql Server Timout

I went to chat asking for someone to solve my problem but they are not able to, for several hours all the pages in my site that uses MS SQL SERVER are showing the following error message


Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80040e31'

Timeout expired

 
If this happened for "several hours" I tihnk you must be using an ODBC connection, as there is no way a direct connection could give this error for so long. ODBC should not either, but sometimes connections can hang in an ODBC pool and cause errors like this, it doesnt happen often but sometimes.
