MSSQL8 - Scheduled maintenance Saturday 11pm CDT

We are seeing some errors in SQL 2008 on some users query, these are a known issue and there is a hotfix available for it, but it will require a patch downtime of 30 minutes to 1.5 hours, and possibly a little more to resolve.

We will be performing this if at all possible, on Friday at 11PM, we do not want to have to do it sooner but if it continues we may be forced to jump to a sooner update.

Re: MSSQL8 - Scheduled maintenance Friday 11pm CDT

We are restarting MSSQL8 now to try to resolve, it is a temp measure. We saw similar issue a few days ago, so applying the patch is required for long term fix.

Re: MSSQL8 - Scheduled maintenance Friday 11pm CDT

MSSQL10 had a similar issue near same time, we have rebooted it also now. MSSQL8 will be up in just a moment

Re: MSSQL8 - Scheduled maintenance Friday 11pm CDT

no errors on either after reboot now, so looking better, MSSQL10 is 2005, so we need to look if a hotfix for the same issue on it now.

Re: MSSQL8 - Scheduled maintenance Friday 11pm CDT

Sorry but with other issues this last 24 hours, this was skipped, it will be performed tonight.

The patch is not applying saying it is not needed, but it seems it is needed, we will call to Microsoft on this matter and reschedule.
