There is an issue with a core distribution switch from the upstream causing this and it is being worked on at top priority.

I am heading across the street to the datacenter where we already have one tech inside the building I am going to provide aid for any other needs.

We are up after moving the core switch, a bit frantic here still will post more as possible.

ok so here was the issue in brief:

A client had a new fiber installed by the datacenter to a cage, upon connecting this fiber it the link went up, and then errored out

The technician that had connected the link saw that the new link had given errors, and then moments later the entire switch had a freak malfunction and reset itself. (This is when I headed to the datacenter)

After moving the connections and reloading the config all was restored and back up. (The link was up before I posed as such, but I went to the datacenter workroom to get online)

Testing is being done to see why even if there was an error in the fiber link it would take down the switch(of course testing is not on the live network).

Some additional failsafes will be added that will prevent this in the future.
