Problem with switching payment interval

Yesterday I added a new account to my reseller account for a website we're designing (I did the signup procedure personally for my customer).

After creating the account I manually credited the account for 1 year worth of hosting, since designing the website includes 1 year free hosting. So far, so good. Then I wanted to switch the account to a 6 month payment interval since the monthly price is fairly low. When I did that, 4 months and 30 days worth of credit I just gave were deducted.

Any idea why this happened? The deducted credit has to do with the fact that accounts are paid in advance, but why do I end up with 6 months and 1 day credit left? It looks rather silly in the billing statements ;)

Also:

Is there a way to put paid hosting on hold until the website is completed? Or should I create a 'no billing' plan and switch the account to a regular plan once it's completed?

Did you upgrade from 1 month term to 6 month term or 12 month term to 6 month term? A credit is simply how much cash is in the customer's account. The customer is debited based on the payment plan cycle

I went from 1 month to 6 months. I can understand 5 months of credit being deducted because of that, but it actually deducted 5 months minus a day, which creates all these weird not-rounded-at-all figures everywhere...
