remote ftp file transfers failing

I was trying to remotely transfer one of the sites I was transferring to my new account and it would not allow that method. With a few thousand plus files that is the only fast way to do it with my slow cable.

Is there something that needs turned on to allow this? I have done it often in the past but it is not working for me here.

filewalls and various factors may be playing a part in this, if you want to send me a private message with the FTP info and the destination server and domain and username I will be glad to move the files for you.
