Hello

Please take a look at the attached screenshot.
I want you to tell me if I have entered the values right based on the following package.

1. Summary Disk Space 200 MB
2. Monthly Transfer 3 GB
3. ASP, ASP.Net, SQL Server, Transfer Log e.t.c.
4. No Dedicated IP
5. Monthly Price: $6/month

Additional Disk Space: $0.08/MB/mon
Additional Transfer: $4/GB/mon
Additional Dedicated IPs: $2/IP/month

Did I enter the values right if this is the package I am offering to customers?
How do I enter price about additional dedicated IP?

Q.1) Did I enter the values right if this is the package I am offering to customers?

A.1) Disk Space Quota specifies the default web space or FTP quota. This should be set to the same value as the Summary Disk Space quota. You could even allocate more disk space than the summary disk space usage and the customer could increase or decrease this quota without being charged. Rest are fine.

Q.2) How do I enter price about additional dedicated IP?

A.2) You can specify 0 free IP addresses and a recurrent (Monthly) fee of $2.00/month per IP for purchasing additional IPs.

Ok it means a customer can increase or decrease its Disk Quota, Mail Quota and Database Quota as he wants and it won't charge extra as long as the total usage is under Summary Disk Space?

Not Disk Quota, as it would be taken as "Paid" resource.
But yes, your customer will be able to edit the mail box and database quota.

He would not be charged additionally, if his summary disk usage is below his total allowed disk space. It is called "flexibility of resource usage".

Hmm...just a little confusion.
That means if customer's Disk Quota is set to 200 MB and if he increases it to 250 MB then he will be charged for this extra amount (50 MB) even though his Summary Disk Space is in the limit?

right, if you have setup the prices for additional resources in his plan. As your customer will change the disk quota, he will be notified the charges he would be required to pay. When he accepts, then only Hsphere will let him edit the total Disk quota.

Best would be you create a test account and test it !

Hmm...another question
If I offer my customers 200 MB of Summary Disk Space how much shall I allocate to Disk quota, Mail and Database? What is the normal practice?

200 Disk Quota.
5 MB/Email Box
10MB/Database.

Also, inform the customer that he can change quota for email and DB according to his requirements in his total disk space limits.

Hmm..now it is making some sense.

It means customer can increase his mail box and database quota as long as he is under the Summary Disk Space?

But if he increases its disk quota then he will be charged irrespective of if he is under Summary Disk Space or not?

Correct. This is for actual usage.

But if he increases its disk quota then he will be charged irrespective of if he is under Summary Disk Space or not?
Yes, Since that would be a modification in the plan itself.

oh!!!! now I understand it......hmm....
Just one last thing :)

Here are 3 cases. See if my conclusion in each case is correct especially the last one?

Let's suppose a month is of 3 days instead of 30.

Case 1: Client goes beyond his Summary Disk Space allocation, Disk Quota remains the same, Mail and database quota doesn't matter
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is the default allocation
Summary Disk Space: 200 MB
Disk Quota: 200 MB
Mail Quota: 10 MB
Database Quota: 10 MB

Every 24 hours HSphere takes reading which is as follows

Day 1
-----
Actual Disk Quota usage: 100 MB
Actual Mail Quota usage: 100 MB
Actual Database Quota usage: 7 MB
Summary Disk Space for this day: 207 MB

Day 2
-----
Actual Disk Quota usage: 150 MB
Actual Mail Quota usage: 75 MB
Actual Database Quota usage: 12 MB
Summary Disk Space for this day: 237 MB

Day 3
-----
Actual Disk Quota usage: 95 MB
Actual Mail Quota usage: 10 MB
Actual Database Quota usage: 25 MB
Summary Disk Space for this day: 130 MB

Result: Summary Disk Space usage for month: (207 + 237 + 130) / 3 = 191 MB

Conclusion: At the end of the month client will not be billed extra because neither he went beyond the Summary Disk Space nor Disk Quota, right?

Case 2: Client doesn't go beyond his Summary Disk Space allocation, goes beyond Disk Quota, Mail and database quota doesn't matter
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is the default allocation
Summary Disk Space: 200 MB
Disk Quota: 200 MB
Mail Quota: 10 MB
Database Quota: 10 MB

Every 24 hours HSphere takes reading which is as follows

Day 1
-----
Client increases his Disk Quota from 200 MB to 250 MB.
Actual Disk Quota usage: 210 MB
Actual Mail Quota usage: 20 MB
Actual Database Quota usage: 5 MB
Summary Disk Space for this day: 235 MB

Day 2
-----
Client decreases his Disk Quota from 250 MB to 200 MB.
Actual Disk Quota usage: 75 MB
Actual Mail Quota usage: 10 MB
Actual Database Quota usage: 12 MB
Summary Disk Space for this day: 97 MB

Day 3
-----
Actual Disk Quota usage: 103 MB
Actual Mail Quota usage: 11 MB
Actual Database Quota usage: 26 MB
Summary Disk Space for this day: 140 MB

Result: Summary Disk Space usage for month: (235 + 97 + 140) / 3 = 157 MB

Conclusion: At the end of the month client will be billed extra because although he didn't go beyond the Summary Disk Space but he did went beyond his Disk Quota, right?

Case 3: Client goes beyond his Summary Disk Space allocation, goes beyond Disk Quota, Mail and database quota doesn't matter
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is the default allocation
Summary Disk Space: 200 MB
Disk Quota: 200 MB
Mail Quota: 10 MB
Database Quota: 10 MB

Every 24 hours HSphere takes reading which is as follows

Day 1
-----
Client increases his Disk Quota from 200 MB to 250 MB.
Actual Disk Quota usage: 210 MB
Actual Mail Quota usage: 20 MB
Actual Database Quota usage: 5 MB
Summary Disk Space for this day: 235 MB

Day 2
-----
Client decreases his Disk Quota from 250 MB to 200 MB.
Actual Disk Quota usage: 105 MB
Actual Mail Quota usage: 110 MB
Actual Database Quota usage: 12 MB
Summary Disk Space for this day: 227 MB

Day 3
-----
Actual Disk Quota usage: 103 MB
Actual Mail Quota usage: 25 MB
Actual Database Quota usage: 26 MB
Summary Disk Space for this day: 154 MB

Result: Summary Disk Space usage for month: (235 + 227 + 154) / 3 = 205 MB

Conclusion: At the end of the month client will be billed extra for both summary disk space and disk quota because not only he went beyond the Summary Disk Space but he also went beyond his Disk Quota, right?
It means he will be billed for 5(summary disk space) + 50 (disk quota) MB, right?

Summary Quota= Average of Mail+DB+Web. So,

Case 1 = Right.
Case 2 = Right.
Case 3 = He will be charged for 5 MB only, since 200 MB is included in his plan. Summary Quota is an arrangement of usage calculation, it is not a resource. Hope, it is clear now !!
