that is a manual and sometimes painstaking process. for mail accounts it is basically unavailable to restore, as it is so time consuming, we could do it possibly under billable hours.

Not worth it. I have an old client that would come back if I could restore his settings which I keep in xml files. I normally back them up myself before deleting an account but this time I didn't.
Not enough money in it for me to worry about it... they shouldn't have left in the 1st place.
