rolling log files/webalizer

Can anyone explain the log file setup on reseller packages? I thought log files were overwritten on a rolling basis (on my VPS I believe it's three months out), but it appears that my client's site has had log files reset completely on 1/1/09, along with the back history of webalizer data -- only January is shown. That's kinda annoying when they want to do a "last quarter in review" stats first thing in the new year. Either way it doesn't make sense for webalizer to only offer 1 month of data when the previous months' data existed?

Logs rollover every 7 days on shared, but webalizer should have kept older data, I am thinking maybe 'another' 2009 bug has cropped up if it doesn't have the 2008 archives.

(I say another generically haven't seen any in the CP system but saw many in point of sale, entertainment, airline and other systems)

Thx, Stephen -- not sure what happened. I pulled a recent backup that had all the '08 data, so everyone is happy, but I think I'll be setting them up with a google analytics package or something with a little more horsepower from now on...
