Routing issues across US

Major routing issues with some tier-1 providers in the US has brought down a lot of websites including portions of our network for some customers. We are working with our providers to sort out whats happening. Major internet sites have been down as well
 
VoIP services are having trouble as well and hence we are not able to attend to phone calls at the moment
 
We've mass-mailed our customers about this issue. The email states

Dear Customers

This morning, alot of major internet websites as well as our network have been facing intermittent unavailability issues for almost 2 hours. The issue was a global issue that affected customers nationally and internationally that were connecting to any website in the US transiting via Level3. The issue seems to have been corrected now and our network back up at 100%

We are sorry for the inconvenience but we'd like to stress that we had nothing to do with the incident nor could we have done anything to prevent it. The issue affected thousands of webhosts across the US hosted in different datacenters across the country
