Server status updates - more info please!

Hi,

With regard to this post and similar ones:

When a server stops responding, can we please be given a reason why? It is at least something to tell clients. Especially SQL servers, which are usually pretty stable. Are you certain there's nothing wrong with that server?

Posts that simply say, "server is down." then "server is back up again" is not really good enough IMO. Not for resellers.

well it was simply that during the nightly SQL dump the service hung, it has to be manually stopped and restarted.

Thanks Stephen. It's useful to know even something like that, just so we know what happened and what to tell clients that are way too nosy. :)
