Spamhaus issue - resolved

Spamhaus has listed a whole /20 for spam, I just want to clarify, this is NOT US, I have sent a mail to Spamhaus to have our IPs removed they have blocked a whole /20 (just over 4000 IPs!) The spam was NOT from our servers and not even from netblocks in our name.
We are working to resolve this as soon as possible, just awaiting their reply now.

Spamhaus Blocklist (SBL) | IP DNSBL for effective email filtering

This is the spamhaus listing, you can check the IP listing on whois.sc/64.187.96.1 and see this is NOT us, they have blocked us with some 700 IPs that were spam sources, but these were not from our network.

Re: Spamhaus issue on most servers except mail1,3,4

Mail1, Mail3, Mail4 are not blacklisted by spamhaus
Mail5 is. we are setting up a IP on a different block and will change the outgoing IP shortly

We apologise for the issue. The whole /20 has been listed due to spam coming from IPs not used by us. SpamHAUS should have it unlisted shortly

Re: Spamhaus issue on most servers except mail1,3,4

Mail5 is no longer listed. None of our mail email servers are listed by spamhaus at this moment.

There are a # of web servers, and we are working with spamhaus to get this resolved ASAP. Normally, this shouldn’t be an issue since most web scripts should be sending email out from the email servers anyway

Re: Spamhaus issue on most servers except mail1,3,4

We expect SpamHaus to unlist our blocks of IPs this evening. We are basically going through a long process of correspondence with them, which is their policy before unlisting IPs. We are trying to speed this up.

We apologise for this issue. We do not own the entire /20 block. However we own /24 and /23 blocks in the /20 block. But because of some spammers in the /20 block, our blocks have been listed too. We’ve made a request to SpamHaus to at least unlist the smaller blocks we own (since they have no complaints) right away

Corrected!
Spamhaus Blocklist (SBL) | IP DNSBL for effective email filtering

We are no longer blocked, this has just happened and it may take up to 2 hours for mailservers to get the updates and up to 4 hours for mail servers using a cached RBL to see the edited listing that does NOT include us.
