Hi,

I was just wondering what the 10 CALs part meant

I am shopping for an SQL Server license so need to know what it means...

Thanks

yes, you'll need a 1 processor license. If you want to do hosting, you are required to lease SQL Server under the SPLA. You cannot offer hosting under the retail version.

SQL Server Standard 1 Proc costs $169/mo + tax under the SPLA.
You are looking to start with your own servers? :)

BTW, MSDE is legal to use for hosting, it just have some connection limits, and it is free :D

However, it does NOT have Enterprise Manager on the server, for management.

Yes, I saw that it cost 195/mo with you guys so I thought I could buy the license and send it to you guys.

The only thing holding me back is the server management cost.

One more thing, how do I get SQL server from the SPLA (whatever that means)?

SPLA is the Microsoft Service Provider Licensing Agreement. You need to sign that with Microsoft. If you do not want to, just go with a reseller.
