Static IP for shared SSL

Do I need to set-up a static IP for using shared SSL? I can get the Shared SSL to work with the prefix http;, but NOT with httpS:, so I was wondering if I need the IP? In neither case does the little lock show up on the browser status bar.

Shared SSL should work with https. Please contact support if not working. You do not need dedicated IP for this.

Yes, little lock will show up on status bar with https://.
