Tenfold increase in bandwidth since migration

Since migration on June 17, our site's bandwidth has increased tenfold. Daily usage used to be 30-50 MB per day (has been for years), now it is anywhere from 300-500 MB per day. Yesterday alone (July 4), saw over 600 MB.

We analysed the logs and asked JodoHost to block two IP's but that has done nothing to rectify the issue. AWStats is not eluding to anything out of the ordinary.

There has been an ongoing ticket for about 2 weeks to this effect but the last response from JoDoHost was "We are looking into it and will update you back as soon as possible."

Has anybody experienced this large increase before? Any suggestions on diagnosing the issue?

*Both ASP.NET and classic ASP site mix.
*The Classic ASP is used in a forum that would see the bulk of the site's traffic.
*SQL Server back-end.

There is a chance there were remnants of an addon ISAPI on the old server that would make downloaded files 1/8th of the size they should be in logs, that would fit nearly in line with the increase you are seeing in traffic.

We stopped doing any and all ISAPI addons when we learned about this, but some of the older servers even though we had unisntalled still had pieces around.

This is why we did not do ISAPI rewrite, some debug options etc.

Once we had someone hosting a movie they had shot (their own not anything illegal etc) that was using over 60mb/s of bandwidth but hsphere continually was reporting only a couple 100MB of traffic a day, this is when we really got checking on the traffic calculations incorrectly being reported.

To my recollection we had ISAPI addons possibly up till about 26 server.

Thank you for the update, Stephen. That clarifies it for us. I suspect that is the case and our bandwidth usage really is what is being reported now.
