Trouble is, my domain name registrar, only allows me to chanhe the name servers and not change the actual IP's...I've contacted them and they say they have contact nominet to do this...does this sound right?
If your registrar does not allow you to change the ip addresses, check out
http://GoDaddy.com
We had a similar problem and what we did was ...
1. created another domain
2. then created 2 subdomains, ns1 and ns2
3. then set the new IP addresses to those 2 subdomains
4. then set the A record for ns1 and ns2
5. << went for coffee >>
6. 30 min later, the nameservers were picked up and were showing in dnsstuff.com
7. changed all of our domain names to the new nameserver addresses
8. 6 - 12 hrs later, we had it working
This is what we did, but please speak w/ Stephen before you follow my steps because after you change this, you have to go and set the nameservers for the service domain to the new ones you created in order to pick up cp.<yourdomain>.com and other services such as mail, sqlserver, oracle, mysql to be picked up properly.
