i'd really like to resolve ticket #'s 40701 & 41156 so i can move on.

oh and what are the chances of debian in a vps account.

Kindly check & reply you ticket no - 41156.

VPS accounts are basically chrooted accounts and you may
install softwares packages on it. You cannot install an entirely
different distro like debian there.
