Web14 and PHP (cluster1) issues

I've noticed that a couple of sites on web14 that are PHP will occassionaly 'die' and start returning "HTTP Error 500-Internal Server Error".

This morning - 8:00am CDT, USA - the sites were down again for quite awhile. I was just in the process of typing up a support ticket...when they came back!

I don't have a log of exact down times, but it seems to be more frequent lately, and customers are starting to notice these outages as well.

So far, the problem seems to magically 'fix' itself - but is there any news or update as to what is happening or why?

Would it be best to move sites off of Web14?

Thanks!

PHP is a CGI process, and it could be that there is someone abusing it, I will have it checked out and monitored throughout the day.

Thanks - I appreciate it!

I just got two phone calls, and it looks like it was down either constantly or intermittently from around 5:30am CDT - 8:30am CDT this morning.

Don't know if you have any logs that might point out what was happening during that period, but I thought I'd pass along the info!

If it would help, I can keep a better log of the incidents. Also, would it help if I jumped on LiveChat if I catch on outage while it's occurring?

Thanks again for your quick response!

Sure come to like chat when it is happening and they can alert someone monitoring.

doh i must admit reading this wrong this morning, I thought you said win14!! My initial answer about cgi is wrong in that case (the rest all applies still!)

Now that being said, which version of PHP is being used on web14, php4 or 5?
