Like so many others, I received all of the emails from Jodohost announcing the upcoming DNS migration along with all of the new IP addresses BUT failed to realize that the domain name server names they were refering to was the one that I (along with many others) setup along time ago. In my case, I registered a domain called pcgraphixdns.net and use it as my nameserver for all of the websites that I create.
So if the domain that you use as a your domain name server is registered with Godaddy, I've outlined below how you use the new IP addresses to get your websites, email & control panel back up. Each registar uses different terminology which has added to the confusion. Godaddy uses "Host Summary" instead of child or private.
HERE IS THE GODADDY FIX:
-From your godaddy acct, click on the domain that you use as your nameserver.
-Scroll to the bottom of the "Domain Details" page and look for the section called "Host Summary".
-It should already contain some entries such as NS3 & NS4 or possibly NS1 & NS2 depending on how you originally setup it up.
-Click on "edit" for the first entry. This is where the obsolete IP address is located! Replace the old IP with the new IP address that Jodohost provided. For example, if you are editing NS3 then use the IP address that jodohost provided as ns3.<your-service-domain> which would be 173.0.137.5.
-For some reason I wasn't able to edit the second NS entry for about 10 minutes but then Godaddy finally allowed me to change it to the new IP.
Everything was back online within 15 minutes of making the first change!!
