What caused the downtime?

It's about time we had a server status report site and maybe a reseller mass mailing list that had nothing to do with any other JH servers or datacentres.
Being left completely in the dark for hours just isn't on.

i agree.. a remote site from a 3rd party host, a cheap reliable one..

where we can see latest things.. or could call them ..lol

Windows Servers Down??

Are the windows servers still affected by the routing issues? Linux servers appear to be up but can't get to Windows.

Thanks
Greg

We posted updates about level3 going down, but still broadcasting that it was up, causing routing problems for everyone, including me personally.

Re: Windows Servers Down??

Only some IPs were affected by the extended problems, with the 204.10.107.* range of IPs.

I wasn't aware that Level3 would cease to provide connectivity as well as IPs. Now that the routing issues are solved, things seem back to normal though. Ping times are only 5-10ms slower than using Level3 from where I am.

I don't know about other people, but while you were down none of your domains resolved and none were pingable, it was if the whole of jodo had gone.

Yes, when the routes went down it all went down for a while, some as little as 5 minutes, and some, like me, was 1 hour.

(What I mean is it depended upon which carriers your ISP utilized)

Well, at least our relationship with Level(3) is over.

InterNap will start serving a majority of our bandwidth shortly
