Someone attempted to send hundreds of thousands of spam via n insecure form mail on a clients site(this is beocming a very "popular" thing!), it resulted in the mail system going into a defensive mode and blocking all this mail that in turn slowed down the whole server.
We got it resolved about 10 minutes later but are still processing some cleanup from the injected spam.
