Win29 server restored after hardware problem

We have issued a reboot and it is still not up, I am checking a bit more and we may have to handle this at the datacenter.

We are sending tech to the datacenter now. but it is going to take a little while as we are not near the datacenter on this weekend.

Still ongoing, likely ETA if no hardware issue here is about 1 hour, everyone is out enjoying the day with family, including me, and I am not near the datacenter.

We have been working on it for the last 45 minutes without any success. We have determined that the motherboard or other critical component has gone out, as we get no POSt on the board in any way.

At this point we are starting prep for a restore to new hardware.

We tried to remove the hard drives and put in the new server to make restoration faster, and they were not seen by the new hardware, so this won't be feasible. meaning it is going to take a bit longer to restore from backups from this morning.

considering we have to take the over network now we are looking at at least 12 hours for restoration. We will update you as able.

We have files restoring but having a couple issues in getting the site settings back up from Hsphere. We are working to get it all in order ASAP.

Site settings are well on their way to installing now, files are also restoring but not yet having permissions sets that will allow sites to work. As soon as IIS settings complete from the Hsphere side we will be able to start that process.

Some websites will be coming online within the next 1-2 hours, but there will still be some file restore lagging behind that.

Everything was going very well for the last hour or so but about 20 min ago hit a lot of fails on the account creation process, getting mostly fails now, we are working on getting this resolved before we can continue further, as we work to find what is not working now.

We've got it going again successfully but will have to do a bit of cleanup on the users with accounts that failed creation at first.

It looks like these fails that happened before have put us back about 40 minutes or so as it is forcing us to manually fix after others done, and it slowed down the process by failing instead of success in creation.

Well that projection is gone now, we are still waiting on it to finish up so we can start the manual cleanup for those domains creation that failed. We are working as quickly as possible.

We have two huge users restoring right now preventing us from a bit of progress in getting a substantial amount of domains online, as soon as they are done we will get file moved bringing up many domains on the server.

Sites will be coming up now, there are still some being restored and permissions set, but about 50% of the users or more are restored now. Permissions are setting now.

going well now in restores, and permissions for all users that have files there are good, Files are still being restored if you don't see any files don't worry just yet, they are coming!

Data is restored; SSL certs are not restored at this point, we would recommend resubmitting SSL Certificates from Hsphere if you have that available.
Permissions are on default levels and may need to be set if you had custom permissions, and IIS may need to be edited for ASP.NET 4.0 again if you had it enabled as well.

submit a ticket for custom permissions,ASP.NET 4.0 or any other additional issue that you may have at this time.

We have noticed that MVC 1.0 is giving an error on install and needs one 3.5 hotfix that we thought was already installed in the windows updates process.

We will issue a reboot to win29 tonight(10-midnight EDT) to do that hotfix and will have a minor iis outage during the install of that.

Backup is currently going now so we cannot reboot, it will be done before 7am EDT.

ASP.NET update going now, IIS may not respond for a few minutes during this time, and then a reboot.
