We've had a major issues on Win5 as all of you probably know. The issues as mentioned were occured by an HSphere patch that corrupted IIS metabase and made it difficult for us to recover even after the best efforts of our team. Efforts by the PSOFT to make IIS stable again failed after they spent quite some time. Our day got worse when we decided to rebuild the meta database but the OS wouldn't load anymore
after the substanital work on the registry that was performed. Our hard disk parttion recovery software made it even worse as it would not recognise the RAID drivers on the ssytem and we couldn't recover. We were forced to do a complete reinstall of Win5 and restore from scratch
At the moment, all sites have been recreated in IIS and files are being copied back to their directories. You may see a "Directory Listing Denied" error. That means your files are yet to be copied. You can login to your FTP account and restore your files yourself or wait for the process to complete. You may also open a ticket to have your files updated right away, ahead of the queue. if you are having issues with ASP, ASP.NET or Shared SSL, please switch them off then on. if that doesn't correct the issue, please open a ticket
We understand this even has seriously dented our reputation towards our customers The management at JodoHost will be thoroughly reviewing this incident and will be taking measures to prevent such an incident from happening again. We will be revising our policies on updating, testing and restoration procedures right after this. We however as a team did the best we could in the circumstances, all our admins who have many years of experience concluded that the reinstall was the best and only to prevent any future issues
Customers affected can email [email protected] for SLA compensation
