Data Centers - Waco & Florida

Thanks for the update, Stephen. I'll look forward to hearing Jodo's future direction WRT data centers....Charles

Data Centers - Waco & Florida

Just received the notification that one of the Win servers is moving to the "Wako data center." That was a new one to me...last I knew, there was Florida, Florida, and Florida. Some digging around on the APYL site shows you've set up offices in Waco and that there is, indeed, a (seemingly) new...

    Cluster1 Hsphere Upgrades Discussion thread

Okay, thanks for the clarification on the summary disk usage. However, there is still that first question--the PSoft doc'n implies that mailbox storage is not part of quota, whether that be summary or non-summary storage. I'm assuming that, as usual, PSoft doc'n is not right? Charles

    Cluster1 Hsphere Upgrades Discussion thread

Was reviewing the new mail setup stuff (http://www.psoft.net/HSdocumentation/user/mailboxes.html) and read the following: "Mailbox quota defines how many MB of mail you can store in your mailbox. You can't store more than allowed by the mailbox quota. It is not included into the site disk...

Mail TimeStamp off by about 14 hours

Hey Stephen It's June 4, 2007, about 2037 here in Ontario. I had a customer complain today about the time stamps and I just verified that the timestamp is 4 hours too fast. Mail sent here at 2040 shows up in DWMAIL with a timestamp of 0040 June 5. When DL'd to Outlook, the time stamp is...

    phpBB versus vBulletin

I forgot to ask this before...does anyone know whether attachments can be posted with messages in phpBB? My customer wants to put docs up that can be downloaded/viewed by others who can then comment on the docs.

    phpBB versus vBulletin

Hmmm.... I tend to respond....well, let's just say negatively to comments like that. They wouldn't like me very much after I replied. Even less after I called and asked to speak to whatever passes as the owner of the company. Thanks for the advice and the heads up. Charles

    Web-Based FTP Client???

The client (RCMP) has extremely strict security and they've used Windows policy to wire off FTP in IE. No software gets installed outside of the standard desktop, leaving out any sort of standard FTP client.

    phpBB versus vBulletin

    Thanks, Stephen!

    phpBB versus vBulletin

I'd be interested in hearing comments comparing phpBB to vBulletin. The objective is to determine whether vBulletin is worth the relatively inexpensive licensing fee for a relatively low volume BB to be used by a police force. (IOW, a good record against hacks would be a Very Good Thing.) Also...

    Web-Based FTP Client???

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good Web-based FTP client that is secure, can be installed on Jodo's servers (reseller acct), and is (ideally) free? The objective is to allow a customer with a bunch of tech dummies to post documents in a secure folder or two so they can do things like...

Ah! I subscribe to SecurityFocus and I saw that article when it came out. Thanks, Stephen!

    Spam Question

It's the pointlessness of it that boggles the mind. Would you agree, however, that the most likely culprit (ruling out her own machine) is that one of her recipients has a compromised box? What's the link, btw, to the trojan you were reading about (if it's semi-handy; don't waste time hunting...

    Spam Question

One of my customers has started to receive "gibberish" spam to her email account. Some things of note: -- She is extremely protective of this account as it's her "trusted" email account she uses only to personal recipients. -- She is almost as paranoid as me (which is very paranoid) about...

    New WebMail Interface

Okay, my comments: I hate the security code stuff. Others have said it already, but I'll say it again...it's a big pain in the butt and the code can be very ambiguous looking (e.g., L versus 1, O versus 0) From where I sit, it's essential that some method outside of the CP be available for...
