My VPS site has been having problems since last week.

Supposedly there is a migration going on.......but canadian GEESE migrate faster.....lol

Now my site is Completely UNUSABLE......and I have customers screaming at me.

This is how I make my livelyhood.......and it's Inexcusable to have these issues continuing.

You had 3 DAYS to figure this out.............What the HELL is going on?

OK......NOW I know why all the problems. Just got a message that JodoHost is moving to a New and Improved Datacenter. Which is Awesome. I just wish they would have let me know earlier, and I would have understood and not got so upset.......Sorry for all the disparaging remarks I have made.

Jodohost remains the BEST Web Host I have found.....and I base that on over 10 years of Excellent Hosting!

Having issues again.........at a total loss here.......this is so depressing.........z
Zardiw, what kind of issues are you having? I myself have been having issues with my VPS for the past few days. Maybe there's something related going on.

My issue is my VPS has suddenly started acting very sluggish and unresponsive at times (either accessing my sites or logged into Windows working on things) It could be 5 minutes here, 10 there... and then suddenly it starts acting zippy and fast again... only for it to slow down again. I've asked support if there's anything going on at the node level or network level and they say there isn't.

The problem was originally due to the migration from one data center (DC) to another. What they did is moved the sites first I guess........but left the databases on the old DC. This caused a huge slow down, cause the websites had to get their stuff from 2 DC's, and the sites had to talk back an forth between them to render the pages........this was true for WP sites, and other sites that actually use a DB.....which is most of em nowadays.

But I'm assuming the move has been completed and everything is on one DC.......maybe not.

I solved all my problems by getting a Dedicated Server (which was created on the new DC I assume) and moving my sites to that.

Don't know what your problems are at present.......maybe not related to the move......wtf knows.....lol

homefish,

We don't have any issue ongoing with any VPS server nodes like this, what your ticket ID?

zardiw's issues have been fixed as stated, going to dedicated and not splitting things across facilities.

We're all in Dallas now(since July 4th or so), BUT dedicated servers are not in the same facility as the shared/VPS servers. They are a 'stones throw away' but not directly linked.

Thanks for the response Zardiw. Glad to hear you got your server problems fixed!

Hey @Stephen, I had a ticket opened up earlier this week, but I closed it since my VPS seems to be running normally again (at least for the last two days). As I had said in the ticket, it was really strange because my entire system would take anywhere from 30 seconds to even several minutes to respond to basic stuff (like opening Notepad or MMC snap-ins). My CPU and RAM usage were totally fine, and there were no processes eating up resources that I could tell. And I don't believe it was a network connectivity problem as I could see other things happening on the VPS in realtime while it was acting really slowly.

It totally seemed like the kind of problem I've experienced before (although not in a long time, thankfully!) where another VPS on the node had something going on that was sucking up resources or occasionally when you guys were performing some kind of migration of the node.

When I read Zardiw's post, I was curious if his problems were similar to mine.

We are using the latest Hyper-V on Server 2016 base now, so most contention issues aren't really pushed over to impacting other clients in most cases now. If you have a renewed issue with it open a ticket and we'll take a look.
