IP Banned by DNS Service

I just signed up for the Windows Hosting Plan trial and I rather another DNS server than the one you guys offer cause I can point sub-domains to different IPs than yours, well when I tried to setup the domain with my DNS server (zoneedit.com) I got the following message:

We block IP's because certain Service Providers do not actively defend their network from worms, open proxy viruses and network abuse. By allowing 139.81.148.24 on our network, we may jeopardize our ability to do business. By even using 139.81.148.24, you may be exposed to damages, as a result of this prior poor maintenance.

Your ISP knew about the problems with 139.81.148.24 when they assigned it to you.

Info: [1] bluestreammedia, see http://spews.org/ask.cgi?S2238

To have this listing removed from SPEWS, the Service Provider responsible for the IP address 139.81.148.24 needs to post a message to the news.admin.net-abuse.email newsgroup, quoting the reference S2238, and let them know what has been done to fix the problem. If the reason for the listing has been fixed they will normally immediately remove the listing from the SPEWS. If you are planning on moving ISP's, you can name the ISP, the IP's and post a timetable, and they may open up the temporary range for that period of time. The faster the move, the more likely they will do this (1 week is acceptable). Remember, your ISP was told about this listing - and they knew about it when they gave you the IP address.

We would suggest sending an email to [email protected].. Pasting in the exact information above information, as well as any other documentation you have

What can I do about this..?

Hi

What IP are you entering into your external DNS provider? 139.81.148.24 is not an IP with us anymore. All our IPs start with "6" now.

Well that's the IP that was assigned to me, see attachment...

I think you need to use the DNS Server Ip's. (Also in your attachment. They also start with 6, so I think that's what Yash meant.)

I'll give it a try, one would think you got to use the IP assigned to you not the name server's IP...

Is not working..... i setup test.mydomain.com and entered one of the name server's IP and I can resolve host using nslookup, and i can also ping it but if i try to connect from the browser i get a "Page cannot be displayed error...

Ok. I understand what you are trying to do. You can't enter in a shared IP into an external DNS server. That IP is used not only by your website but many websites. You need to buy a dedicated IP ($1.50/month). just click "Change to Dedicated IP"

It should've worked if the IP weren't banned for some reason... as long as the site is set to listen to my domain which it should be since I set the domain, i just didn't delegated your name servers... I think I'm gonna pass for now... thanks anyways.

Not if the IP address were shared. The only way you could do it would be to get a dedicated IP address. Your only other option would be to use JodoHost's name servers, like everyone else.

Do not understand what was this thread about ?

What was Fernan planning to do ?
and why that required a dedicated IP.

My only concern is that I have registered my domain names with goddady.com as well as one other registrar. I am planning to move to sites to jodohost. will I have to by dedicated IP ?

He required a dedicated IP because he wanted to use an external DNS server. People use external name servers mainly to avoid other people from finding out where they are being hosted.

All you will have to do is enter
ns1.jodohost.net &
ns2.jodohost.net

as your name servers at godaddy.com. No dedicated IP is required
